About

Meaning
Kirin Tora Reiki is more than a name. It is an aspirational vision: a bringing-together of powerful and complementary energies into every treatment and class I offer. The name is drawn from Japanese language and mythology, and each element carries its own significance.

Legend
The tiger is among the most revered animals in both Asian and European cultures. In Japan, it is held in particularly high esteem: a symbol of strength, ferocity and courage — qualities we may aspire to within ourselves or seek in those we trust. In Japanese belief, the tiger is more than fierce; it is sacred — said to hold mythical powers of protection, warding off evil spirits, disease and misfortune. Its roar echoes like thunder, scattering demons and dark forces. This protective, courageous energy is one I seek to bring into every Kirin Tora Reiki session: creating a space where you feel truly safe, held and supported.

Practice
Reiki connects us to the celestial by tapping into the universal life force energy that flows through all living beings. The word Reiki itself is formed from two kanji: Rei (霊) — universal, divine, spiritual — and Ki (気) — life force energy. Together they represent the idea of divinely guided life force: an energy that is both ancient and ever-present. Reiki supports emotional balance, inner peace and physical healing; it can help you release negative emotions, reduce stress and find a genuine sense of calm.
Philosophy
At Kirin Tora Reiki, I believe that the capacity for healing lives within each of us. My role is not to fix or cure, but to support — to help you access your own innate wisdom and create the conditions in which balance across body, mind and spirit can naturally be restored.
I approach every session and every student with compassion, respect and a genuine curiosity about the whole person. My teaching draws on both the original Japanese practices of Mikao Usui and the Western Reiki tradition — honouring the roots of this beautiful system while making it accessible and meaningful for the people in front of me today.
Whether you come seeking calm, healing, growth or simply curiosity — you are warmly welcome. The energy is here for you.
